Portrait of the Artist at 22

Each year for my birthday I paint a self portrait, with the paintings in this series intended to track my personal changes as well as changes in my style over the years.

This year I wanted to paint myself in a casual setting in contrast to the first painting in the series, in which I was posed quite classically and formally.

The painting is fairly simple and the resemblance to me isn’t as good as the previous, but I think that it represents me better than a more formal painting would.
