Portrait of the Artist at 21

Each year for my birthday I paint a self portrait, with the paintings in this series intended to track my personal changes as well as changes in my style over the years.

In this piece my main focus was on depicting the colouring styles which I had been developing over the past year.

The portrait is posed fairly classically, but has multiple different coloured light sources which are used to demonstrate the exagerrated and saturated colour palette of the piece.
