Study of Sadness

In this study of a classical portrait found in a reference book, I attempted to create an air of sadness by using a limited colour paletter constructed mainly from blue, yellow and very sparing red.

I feel that the use of this colour palette creates a piece which is much moodier than it would be if it were presented using more realistic colours.
