In this piece I was attempting to challenge myself to make a painting with a negative mood despite the main component of the piece being a bright yellow onesie of pikachu.
In order to introduce moodier elements of the palette, I made use of plenty of green colours, but in order to maintain the vibrance of the yellow I employed unconventional colour transitions from yellow to purple to blue.
I also attempted to introduce some depth to the piece by painting more distant parts of the piece to be greener than areas which are closer to the viewer, which I believe improved the moody atmosphere significantly.
