The Pensive Duck

On the 24th day of my painting-every-day series I wanted to put some more effort into the backgrounds of my pieces, so I chose a reference picture with reflective water in the background. Although I think that the bush to the right of the duck is somewhat underdeveloped, I’m very happy with the rest of the piece and I think it pointed me in the right direction in terms of creating pieces which combined a main subject and an appealing background.
