My Paintbrushes

I bought new paintbrushes to replace my old ones, picking the new ones based on what I thought I would need. It was only when I got home that I realised the new paintbrushes were exactly the same make and model as the old ones since they looked completely different to my well-used ones.

I thought it would be interesting to try painting the new paintbrushes and the old ones to show the differences, but I also wanted the study to show the difference between how the paintbrushes performed. To achieve this, each paintbrush in the piece is painted with itself, and the background on each side is painted with the larger brush of each pair.

The old brushes create a muddier, more feathered effect than the new ones, which have much sharper edges and clearer colours.
