The Fishmonger's Selection

This is not the first time that I’ve painted fish, but it is the first time that I’ve painted fish which have been prepared for eating. It was a strange experience painting the interesting, pearlescent texture of fish skin over a fillet of fish rather than the shape of a whole fish.

I’m a fan of this result! I think it turned out as a nice painting despite only being intended as a quick study.
